But even if you are not much of an adventure junkie, Coorg promises a cooler climate to let you relax and unwind and lazily roam around little paths that lead to scintillating hills. Bird-watchers and trekkers are also going to love this place. In all, if rejuvenation is what you seek, a trip to Coorg is highly recommended.

Experience Coorg

Coorg’s inhabitants are the Kodava people, who are further bifurcated into 1000 clans. The Kodavas have long been known for their hospitality, so you can be sure that your trip or vacation to Coorg will be a comfortable one. Apart from extremely friendly and welcoming people, the culture of Coorg is what will intrigue you the most. Once ruled by kings, the culture here is different from what is followed in other parts of Karnataka. The people of this district worship their ancestors. The festivals held here are the Huttari (harvest), Keil Poldu (where weapons are worshipped), etc.

Coorg qualifies as one of the most thrilling locations in India and is a haven for people who love adventure activities. From water rafting to a challenging trek, Coorg has it all. Even for the explorers, the foodies, and nature lovers, this district is a wonderful surprise.

Madikeri Fort:

Belonging to the 16th century, Madikeri Fort was constructed by Tipu Sultan and should be included in your Coorg tour packages. As it is hilltop fort, it offers a nice view from above. Inside the fort, you will find the hexagonal palace, which is the present-day district commissioner’s office. Also, the fort houses a colonial-era church which has a fascinating museum inside it as well.

Raja’s Seat:

Raja’s seat is a gorgeous garden with wonderful flowering plants and finely designed fountains. Situated in Madikeri, the garden was once the spot where kings of Kodagu came for some rejuvenation and to watch the lovely sunsets. While on your Coorg tour/vacation, you can visit this famous spot on your Coorg travel packages to gaze at the sun as its sets down, along with enjoying the amazing view of the countless valleys.

Abbey Falls:

The falls, being 70 feet high, create a spectacular sight to just gaze at, complete with the green foliage of the Western Ghats in the background. Your Coorg trip package should be one that takes you these beguiling falls as well. The aura of the waterfall is enough to entice you into staying longer than you had planned to.

Omkareshwara Temple:

One of the highlights one your Coorg trip package should be the Omkareshwara temple. Showcasing both Gothic and Islamic architecture, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was constructed by Lingarajendra in the year 1820. The water tank at the temple is home to several freshwater fish and further augments the charm of the temple.
